With the 45th overall pick in the 2014 draft, the Seahawks select…

…believe it or not, an actual player and not a trade — WR Paul Richardson out of Colorado.

On paper, he looks an awful lot like Sidney Rice.  Richardson is surprisingly fast for his 6’0″ height (he ran an 4.40 second forty at the combine) and has great hands and some big play ability, but he’s got some injury red flags and needs to pack some muscle onto his frame (currently he only weighs about 175 lbs).  Assuming he can allay everyone’s concerns by staying healthy enough to be productive, Richardson could be the sort of big-play, big-body wideout Carroll has been hunting for ever since injuries rendered Mike Williams ineffective back in 2011.
