Per Mike Sando of ESPN, the Seahawks have agreed to a trade with Tampa Bay for tight end Kellen Winslow. Trade details to follow as it is made available.
Winslow gives the Seahawks a talented pass-catching tight end that can situationally be used as a blocker. He is 29, giving the offense a veteran presence. At his best he is a pro-bowl caliber type of tight end, yet another weapon for whoever wins the quarterback competition this August.
Update (9:30pm): The Seahawks gave up a conditional 2013 7th-round draft pick that could upgrade to a 6th-round draft pick. I think this is a home-run deal, and even better if we can re-structure his $4.8 million contract.
