Quick Reads and Links

The 2011 NFL season opener is nearly upon us, and I’m sure we are all anxious for things to finally kick off. Even so, many questions remain about our team and many experts have their own speculation about our Seahawks (which, unfortunately, usually isn’t positive).

The following are a few interesting reads/links that I found around a few other sites. Feel free to take a look and/or post a few links you find in the comment section for others to see.

Danny O’neil of the Seattle Times reports about the depth of the receiver position. With so much new talent, it’s going to be tough to predict who will lead the team in receptions this season.

The Seattle AP has an update on the status of Robert Gallery, Sidney Rice, and more. Will they be ready to play in the Sunday opener?

Janie McCauley of the Santa Clara AP has an interesting article about the 49er’s new safety, Donte Whitner. Will he be able to step up and cover the Seahawks’ Pro-Bowl caliber tight end Zach Miller?

710 ESPN Seattle has an online version of Pete Carroll’s first press conference of the season. Carroll makes some interesting notes within the audio clip.
