Curry’s Demotion and the Ultimate Displaced Fan

I’ve got two quick ones for you guys today.  First and foremost, Eric Williams of the Tacoma News-Tribune is reporting that LB Aaron Curry has been demoted to second team duty.  K.J. Wright has been taking his snaps with the first team, and looks likely to start on Sunday.

Holy crap.  This could very well be a sign that Pete Carroll and his staff are fed up with Curry not living up to his potential and are preparing to move on without him.  Could a trade be in the works?  And if so, would they be trading him for a player or draft picks?

Secondly, I was contacted recently by someone representing DirecTV’s Ultimate Displaced Fan contest, which is open for any NFL fan who lives outside of his or her favorite team’s region.  I know that several of you live well outside the Seattle area and all of you love free stuff, so I agreed to spread the word.  To enter, all you need to do is submit a “photo, essay, or video (highly encouraged)” that describes why you are the most die-hard fan living outside of the Seahawks’ market area.

The grand prize is a trip to the Super Bowl, which I hear is pretty great to watch in person.  No Seahawks fans have won the trip yet, but they’ve gotten close — back in 2009, two Seahawks fans were honorable mentions, which earned them both a free year of Sunday Ticket.  Not bad for being a runner-up, eh?
