The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly agreed to a contract with former Minnesota wide-reciever Sidney Rice. The 5-year contract is worth $41 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed and up to $3 million additionally in Pro-Bowl escalators.
Personally, I think this is a great move. He will be our starting flanker, opposite of the resurgent Mike Williams at split end. I think I’m starting to finally understand the direction our front office wants to move towards.
We are stripping Minnesota of their players and personell. First was coordinator Darrell Bevell, then quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, and now wide-receiver Sidney Rice. After what they did to us in 2006 (Steve Hutchinson situation), I’m perfectly fine with all this. REVENGE, if you will! Heck, I’d love to see them go after their defensive end Ray Edwards, just to pour a bag of salt on the wound!
