While it remains likely that Offensive Coordinator Jeremy Bates will remain in Seattle, he and Carroll will need to find a new quarterbacks coach. Adam Schefter and Sando is reporting that Jedd Fisch has accepted the Offensive Coordinator / QB Coach position at the University of Miami. He will join defensive line coach Dan Quinn in the state of Florida next year, as Quinn will be the Gators’ DC. Both coaches will remain with the Seahawks through the end of the playoff run.
While a QB coach is not typically a huge blow to a team, bear in mind that Fisch was already the third QB coach in four years for Hasselbeck following Bill Lazor and local legend Jim Zorn. Hey, if Greg Knapp isn’t happy coaching QBs down in Houston, maybe he would be a good optio–oops, I just threw up a little. It remains to be seen who the potential options are here, but I would imagine it will be largely up to Bates to find the guy.
