I apologize for the slowness of this article, but when you have four guys working full time jobs, trying to get news out fast doesn't always work.
Tod Leiweke, CEO of Vulcan Sports (which oversees the Seahawks, TrailBlazers, and Sounders), is stepping down from his post to join the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning as CEO and minority owner. Tod has helped steer the Seahawks' franchise for the last seven years and has done a great job. Owner Paul Allen had this to say in a statement made earlier today:
“I’m sorry to see him go, but I know hockey is his first love. Tod has been a leader for our sports teams,” Allen said. “He helped lead the Seahawks to the 2005 NFC Championship and our first Super Bowl. He also understands our priority on the fans, reinvigorating the 12th Man tradition and leading the team to a five-season string of sellout crowds.”
In response, Tod issued this statement:
"Paul Allen is the most fan-friendly owner in professional sports. He has built great sports franchises that have always given much back to the community. We have strong management and coaching in place in Seattle and Portland and I know the teams are in good hands.”
In my opinion, Tod was a great CEO and he will be missed. However, I have no doubt that Paul Allen will find a replacement of whom we can all be proud.

So, what does this mean moving forward?
