WR Mike Williams and WR Ben Obamanu practiced today and are “Probable” for the upcoming game against the Falcons. Hasselbeck needs these guys back and so does the rest of the Hawk nation. When Hasselbeck saw the video of the loss to the 49ers this week, he stated, “Monday was a bad day. I wasn’t feeling good Monday for a lot of reasons.” Rightfully so! He had five turnovers on Sunday. That was a crucial reason the Hawks lost. For a veteran Quarterback who is in a contract year, Hasselbeck will need to finish strong for the final three games to keep his contract talks alive.
WR Brandon Stokley, CB Walter Thurmond, and CB Roy Lewis are “Questionable” and will be a game time decision. Some of you have wondered this week about kicker Olindo Mare who tweaked his hamstring kicking against the 49ers. He is fine and will play on Sunday. Coach Pete Carroll let him relax this week so his hamstring was not strained any further.
The offensive line will be going through another change. The starting line up this Sunday from left to right is: LT Russell Okung, LG Chester Pitts, C Chris Spencer, RG Mike Gibson, and RT Sean Locklear. This is the ninth offensive line combination this year for the Hawks. Could this finally be the line that the Hawks stick with?
RG/RT Stacy Andrews has been demoted. No reason has been given at this time. Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune has a great article about Stacy Andrews contract situation. If the NFL signs a new collective bargaining agreement after this season, there will likely be another salary cap. If Stacy is cut after this season, none of the contract that the Seahawks took over from the Philadelphia trade would count against that cap. If Stacy stays on the team after this season, he would be one of the highest paid RG/RT’s in the league. At this point in the season, I personally have not seen enough from him to justify that kind of money.
Have a good night!
