Cut-watch 2009: Lions Cut Bodden

by: Chris Sullivan

With what appear to be among the first official cuts of the year, the Lions have cut six players, most notable among them is cornerback Leigh Bodden. Bodden had a standout season in Cleveland (following some decent seasons there) before being shipped off to Detroit for Shaun Rogers last year. He will be looking to get paid, but after a year with the L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-Lions (TM Danny O’Neil) Bodden might come cheaper than he might like, especially with a couple of top-flight free agent CBs on the market like Asomugha, Hayden and Foxworth looking to cash in.

WR Mike Furrey and Safety Dwight Smith were also cut, both starters. ~END~
